Mitigation and Co-existence

When planning an offshore project, at an early stage, operators need to consider the level and type of fishing that takes place in the area and how this will interact with proposals.  Early planning and the establishment of positive relations with fishing communities can pay dividends later in the smooth running of projects.

Fisheries mitigation may comprise measures inbuilt into the design of project plans, as well as the management of operations and application of protocols to manage and minimise disruption and promote co-existence.
