Fishing Liaison and Co-existence Plans
Fisheries Liaison and Coexistence Plans (FLCPs) are becoming more common in order to document and help demonstrate and communicate commitments to coexisting with the fishing industry in the areas of marine operations and installations. They provide a means for documenting the agreed understanding that has been reached in accommodating one another’s needs often developed out of engaging with the fishing industry during the planning of projects and operations. Typically, they cover:
- Liaison communication channels and roles and responsibilities
- Schedules of fisheries mitigation measures
- Protocols for managing interactions with fisheries
Integral to liaison services, NFFO Services provide support in preparing, reviewing, and updating FLCPs.
